Sinclair (2010) defines IEM as…

“…the process that facilitates synergy across the functions of recruitment, admis­sion, advising, enrollment, and retention, which are too often viewed as independent… in an international context, focusing specifically on… international students” (p. 3). By this definition, people who support international students at a university effectively participate in “International Enrollment Management.”
